When browsing for something related to a raspberry pi I came across this article detailing how you could set up your own personal cloud, which could be a more privacy aware solution to using a service like google drive.

I think I might give this a go sometime as I would like an alternative to google drive ever since I looked deeper into their privacy practices.

They can use your content for all their existing and future services
Tracks you on other websites
Logs are kept forever (note: You now do have an option to get data deleted after a while if you change your privacy settings thanks to the GDPR, however not every piece of information can be deleted as easily)

This also was a reminder for me to maybe go check the privacy statements of other services that I have used in the past before I was moved to actually check what they tell what data they collect and what they do with it. Luckily I had found an interesting tool during my research on privacy and privacy fatigue trough this paper. The tool is called Polisis, it gives you an AI generated overview of the points discussed in the privacy policy per topic (data retention, security, third party sharing, etc.). It does this in a visual manner giving you a quicker overview. It does however take a second to get used to their representation I have to say, but once you get it it can be very helpful.
